The CHR plays a significant role in advancing, promoting and upholding human rights at York through its human rights education programming. This programming includes customized and core human rights training, coordinates events and produces educational resources for the York community (current students, faculty and staff) in order to:
- Provide education and professional development on human rights issues
- Support the development and implementation of human rights policy and procedures
- Proactively support the development of a culture of respect, equity, diversity and inclusion at York University
- Stay current with trends and issues in human rights work
- Prevent human rights violations
- Follow-up on human rights settlements, concerns and complaints in your unit
