Education Services

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (REI) educates the university community on best practices to instill Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion in all facets of York’s operations and governance.  We:

  • Provide human rights education and professional development
  • Support the development and implementation of human rights policy and procedures
  • Proactively support the development of a culture of respect, equity, diversity and inclusion at York University
  • Stay current with trends and topics in human rights work
  • Prevent human rights violations
  • Follow-up on human rights settlements, concerns and complaints in your unit

  • Sexual Violence Prevention & Response
  • LGBTQ / Positive Space
  • Race & Ethnicity
  • Inclusive Teaching Practices
  • Discrimination & Harassment in the Workplace

Criteria

If you would like to make a training request, kindly  note our criteria:

  • Minimum 2 weeks notice to ensure availability
  • Advance confirmation of attendee numbers
  • Training is hosted on York affiliated campuses
  • Participant accessibility needs is considered when booking space
  • Audio visual / computer equipment booking is the responsibility of the requestor (unless otherwise specified)
