Reports

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (CHREI) produces reports to share our work and provide relevant data about the York University community.

York University is committed to ensuring that our policies are effective in addressing racism and hate. York will report annually to the Board of Governors and make those reports publicly available. The reports will include the following metrics:

 

  1. Number of complaints
  2. Affiliation of Complainant (staff (including retired and emeritus), student, faculty, volunteers, BoG)
  3. Affiliation of Respondent
  4. University Response times a) initial university response time following contact by complainant (in person, email or phone) b) from initial contact to outcome (this can be broken down further if helpful)
  5. Nature of complaint – indicate harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination (all that apply) and a) goods/services/facilities, b) employment c) housing
  6. Prohibited grounds- Primary: race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status, disability, record of offenses (employment only) or the receipt of public assistance (housing only) Sub-category (if applicable) – anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, antisemitism, and Islamophobia Additional Ground – any additional ground chosen from the prohibited grounds or sub=category
  7. Indication of intersectionality (using data from above)
  8. Outcomes a) whether a matter proceeds to investigation b) investigation is deemed not warranted c) Mediation d) withdrawal by complainant
  9. Actions taken a) Managerial Action taken b) systemic remedy (i.e. education, change to policies/procedures)
